Adventures to have and places to see

Cypress Lake 2021

It was great to be able to go camping now that we entered Phase 1 of Ontario’s COVID-19 restart plan. The Bruce Peninsula National Park is a beautiful spot, with 154 km2 of land to explore. The Bruce Trail travels along the shoreline in the park offering many amazing look-off spots.

Getting There

We travelled up Highway 6 to get to the park. They were doing a lot of construction work on the highway (which is needed). I have never seen so many pylons on the side of the road! The actual construction area only delayed us by 15 minutes or so which was pretty good considering the scope of the project. We stopped for a bite at the True Food Cafe.

We continued to camp in our truck bed and pop-up shelter. This setup works out well and sleeping on a mattress really makes a big difference after a day of hiking. This year we replaced the tailgate with swing doors.
