Snowy owl
Snowy owls will perch for seemingly hours waiting for prey. They will let you get fairly close so long as you do not threaten them. When you get close to one you realize just how big of a bird they really are.

Our snowy returned the next day and decided to make our Adirondack chair his throne. He stayed all day enjoying the sun.

This ‘snowy’ decided to hang out on a patch of snow in our front yard at the farm during the second week of March. He stayed there for quite awhile. I expect there were lots of rodents to be had in the tall grass.

Every year Snowy owls migrate down to our area. We have been very fortunate to catch quite a few pictures of them. We started photographing them in 2018 but they have likely been here way before that.
